  • This is a proprietary Web-based service for K-12 schools, school districts, libraries, and universities. The collection contains thousands of children's and young adult books, searchable by title, author, and topic. Once you locate a book, you can click "Text Complexity Results" to see a full range of numeric leveling results. That is about all that is available for free, however. You must have a license to access all the other multimedia resources (videos, audio files), Web links (author interviews, press clippings), and PDFs (book guides, lesson plans, activities) attached to the book. It appears only family and institutional subscriptions are available and cost several hundreds of dollars. From the home page: "If you read fiction and nonfiction books in any discipline or setting, TeachingBooks.net's database of instructional materials will enliven your K-12 reading and library activities."
