Is Erik Palmer the only one out there paying attention to how we teach (or don't teach) listening and speaking skills? He may well be. His home page has some good resources, plus a nice explanation of the PVLEGS rubric for assessing public speaking. Resources on listening are in short supply everywhere, and Palmer's site is no different. But he is one of the few people out there who is speaking to teachers about digital ICTs and the foregrounding of speaking and listening skills.
